My work

As an Accessibility Consultant, I ensure platforms are accessible to everyone. My expertise and focus lie in websites, webshops, and apps, but I also love exploring accessibility in other areas, such as games and hardware.

Whether you’re a small business or a large organization, Iโ€™m here to help. Accessibility is for everyone, and Iโ€™m dedicated to making the web usable for all.

With a background in backend development, I combine technical expertise with practical solutions. I provide advice on digital accessibility and collaborate with designers, developers, copywriters, product owners, and company management to create meaningful impact.

Anyone I work with can press my ‘ELI5’ (Explain Like I’m 5) button, and Iโ€™ll do my best to ensure you not only understand but can confidently explain it yourself by the time weโ€™re done. Please note: there is not an actual button as I am a human, but I will listen to voice commands.

I am registered as a Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA) at the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).

what I do

  • Deliver accessibility reports specifically for the product team. This report focuses on improving accessibility.
  • Join product teams and work directly with designers, developers, and content writers. This way, we can build new platforms or rebuild existing ones, ensuring they are accessible from the start.

research: accessibility of the biggest e-commerce platforms in the Netherlands

In 2022, on behalf of Level Level, I conducted the annual ‘webshop accessibility research’. This study examined the accessibility of the 15 largest webshops in the Netherlands, such as Bol.com, Amazon, and Albert Heijn. The European Accessibility Act mandates that as of June 2025, all e-commerce services must be accessible. This research highlights that unfortunately, many companies have not yet reached this standard.

In 2023 I conducted this research again, along with my coworkers Florian Schroiff and Amber Qualm.
